Named The K1 Race Gear Proven Performance Program, Will Benefit Drivers In All Divisions
Newmanstown, Pa. - Drivers who visit the winner's circle at Lanco's Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway will also be closing in on a great deal to purchase a new racer's uniform, especially if they are able to find victory lane on numerous occasions in 2013.
Lanco officials, along with Kevin Nouse, a former competitor at the Clyde, announced the formation of the K1 Race Gear Proven Performance Program presented by Nouse Signs & Graphics.
The details of the program are very simple: every driver who wins a feature at Clyde Martin this season will receive a Gift Certificate, worth $25, from Nouse Signs & Graphics. The Gift Certificates can be used toward the purchase of a new 2 or 3-layer custom uniform manufactured by K1 Race Gear of Carlsbad, California.
All five weekly divisions - the 600cc, 270cc, 125cc, Sportsman, and 250cc Four-Stroke Micro-Sprints - will be included in the K1 Race Gear Proven Performance Program. Nouse is capping the number of Gift Certificates (that one driver can earn) at ten, and the Gift Certificates will be marked with the winning driver's name; they are not transferrable.
"We are a full service sign company...we do a lot of graphics design work on racecars. But I also sell driver's uniforms, and that has become a significant part of my business. I believe in the quality of suits made by K1 Race Gear; they're an affordable alternatiive, and I want to grow this aspect of my business," said Nouse.
"And it just makes sense for me to promote my business at Lanco's Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway," he continued. "There's more than 100 cars in the pits every week, plus it's a first-class Micro-Sprint facility...it's nicer than many Sprint Car tracks. And it's the place where I learned to race and I won features there. I just love Lanco, and it's the only Micro-Sprint track where we'll do the K1 Race Gear Proven Performance Program."
The program will benefit drivers who compete in more than one class each night; those wheel-twisters will have more opportunities to reach that elusive ten-win plateau than drivers who run only one class every week. While it's rare, there have been seasons where a driver has been able to capture ten or more checkered flags in one class at the ultra-competitive Clyde.
If a driver can win ten feature races, in multiple divisions or in just one class, he/she will have earned a $250 discount on a K1 Race Gear 2 or 3-layer suit. Given the already low starting price of these stylish, custom uniforms, Nouse will practically give away a suit if the buyer produces a stack of those feature-winning Gift Certificates.
Nouse explained that, about two years ago, he was doing some research on the various manufacturers of racing uniforms because, "I wanted to offer racers an affordable alternative to the custom uniforms that were on the market at that time."
"I know that many drivers in our area are blue collar people, like me, and just couldn't afford to buy a new suit every year, or even every two years, as you should. But choosing a K1 suit makes it possible to replace that uniform when a driver should get a new one."
Nouse was impressed with K1's website, and he "asked them to send me a suit, which they did, and I saw it was very good quality. So I did a buy-in and became a dealer."
Based in Carlsbad, CA, K1 Race Gear was born in 2003 with the philosophy of offering quality racing products to customers at a reasonable price. Nouse says, "once drivers come in and see the outstanding quality of the K1 Race Gear suits, combined with the price that is quite a bit lower than other manufacturers, they're sold."
