John Kovatch IV, the president of Kovatch Motorsports, has confirmed their sponsorship of the 2nd annual Slide at the Clyde at Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway on Saturday June 28th. Kovatch, a racer in his own right, has a stable of cars racing in various classes in the northeast with three SpeedSTR's in the Action Track USA weekly racing fold, with John, Mike Bednar and Kyle Lick wheeling the Rich Tobias creations, as well as sponsorship of a Dirt Modified at Mahoning Valley Speedway and a Slingshot which has seen track time at the AC Indoor Classic and Action Track USA.

The Slide at the Clyde Presented by Kovatch Motorsports will find the All Star Slingshots visiting a non-regular weekly track, with 36 entries taking part in the inaugural event in 2013 which was won by S&S Speedways owner and Hamlin Speedway promoter, Randy Smith.

The payout set forth by LANCO is definitely not top heavy, with car count being the factor in which many other small car payouts are set. The minimum winner's share will be $500 with the take the green money finding the entry money heading back to the race teams. If 30 or more cars are entered $700 will be awarded as well as other added monies that will be dispursed throughout the field and even to some of the non-qualifiers.

Three time Slingshot All Star National Champion, Brett Bieber, had a torrid battle with Smith in last year's event and would like to better his finishing position by one spot. Among some of the pre-entries for this year's race are Alex Schoffstall in a Billy Schinkel prepared ride. Justin Thompson, former point champion at Linda's Speedway, perennial Elite 11 championship finisher, John Bockhorn, Shellhammer's Spring Spectacular winner, Dylan Hoch and both S&S Speedways team cars, with drivers to be named later.

Joining Kovatch Motorsports with race sponsorship are Strictly Dirt Photography owned by Tim Krysiuk, Fan Zone Chef, Strapped In Racing Magazine, OMS Racing, Tom Arntz Racing, Small Cars / Big Buzz and a Slingshot Fan.
Gates open at 3:30 on Saturday, with warm-ups scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. The first heat race goes green at 6:00.
Adult general admission is just $8.00, with discounts for Senior Citizens and Students. Tickets are priced at only $2.00 for youth between the ages of six and 12. Children under the age of six are free, and parking is always free at the Clyde!
The All Star Slingshots will join the five weekly classes of Micro-Sprints: 600cc, 270cc, 125cc, Sportsman, and 250cc Four-Strokes. There have been numerous down-to-the-wire finishes in the Clyde's winged Micro divisions, including a couple of last-lap thrillers on June 21st.

The Slide at the Clyde 2 Presented by Kovatch Motorsports will be bookended by the "Ride Before the Clyde" at Linda's Speedway on Friday night June 27th and the" Roundy Round 25" All Star National at Mahoning Valley Speedway on Sunday afternoon June 29th.

Mike Batz, of Linda's Speedway and Mike Feltenberger of Strapped In Racing Magazine will award an added monetary bonus if a driver can win all three A Mains during this weekend.
