Newmanstown, Pa. - June 12 - It was bound to happen eventually. After Lanco's Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway opened its 2010 season with seven consecutive events that were not hampered by inclement weather, the eighth racing program was halted by a heavy thunderstorm on Saturday night.

With the first of two consolations on the track for the 600cc Micro-Sprints, the ominous black clouds that had been perched over the west end of the facility began spewing moisture. Within minutes, the light rain turned into a monsoon, and the inner lane of the race track was submerged in water, forcing Lanco officials to throw in the towel shortly after 8 p.m.

The premature ending on Saturday sets up a gigantic night of high speed, wheel-to-wheel action for this Saturday, June 19. The pair of consolation events for the 600cc Micros will lead off the program at 6 p.m., followed by postponed Shred Racing Products features for the Sportsman, 125cc, and 600cc racers.

The make-up main events will precede a full show consisting of qualifying heats, consolations, and 25-lap features for the five weekly classes of Micro-Sprints (600cc; 270cc; 125cc; Sportsman; and 250cc Four-Stroke).

With adult general admission set at just $8.00, and EIGHT feature races on the agenda, the June 19 event provides a tremendous entertainment value of $1.00 per feature, plus all of the qualifying activities!

Feature races for the 270cc and 250cc Four-Stroke Micros that were rained out on Saturday will be made up on June 26. That program will also include the return of the Xcel 600 Modifieds, along with a complete show for the 270cc; 125cc; Sportsman; and 250cc Four-Stroke Micro-Sprints. On June 26, the 600cc Micros will have the night off, as many of the winged warriors will be participating in the opening event of PA 600 Speedweek at another speedway.

Coming up on Saturday, July 3, Lanco's Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway will host the second annual Micromania event for the 600's. Expect the best 600cc drivers in the USA to attend this lucrative race meet that serves as the culmination of PA 600 Speedweek.

The first 270 Clash at the Clyde will also be a part of Micromania on July 3, paying $1,000 to the winner and $100 to take the green with many of the area's premier 270cc pilots on the entry list.

Sunday, July 4, is the rain date for Micromania.

With all of these special events on the upcoming schedule, you've just gotta come out and LIVE the excitement that is Lanco!
